What I dont understand ... is why my ex is only required to pay some lame ass amount for child support JUST BECAUSE he works under the table and the government thinks he's not working.

The Ex: Thank you judge. I really love being a slacker and I feel it is unfair for me to support my own child. Thank you so much for making my life so much easier and my ex's life THAT much harder. Amen.

does it cost ANY LESS for me to raise a child just because my ex doesnt work? No. Raising kids is always expensive. So what I think the courts need to do is make a MINIMUM requirement ... and if that just happens to be the persons entire check, then maybe they should consider getting another job or going to school to better themselves so they can take responsibility for their own.
Its funny ... because if *I* were to not support my kid, I would be thrown in jail for child abuse and I would have my rights taken away. But .. why is it ok for a man to leave his child stranded? Why does he still have rights? Why is he NOT in jail?? IT SHOULD BE A CRIME TO NOT SUPPORT YOUR KIDS!!!

That is true about his honesty, ash...thanks for pointing that out to me. It's easy to overlook good things when you're too busy being skeptical, yanno? He is a nice guy, and all that. But, on the flip, he hasn't called me one time since our date. In fact, I left him a message letting him know I got here to PA alright, havent heard back. So, in my ever immortal favorite saying, we'll see.
