Journals journals journals ... almost everyone on this site keeps them. But what exactly are you allowed to say, and what ARENT you allowed to say?
I have noticed so many arguments on this site, and not just on the boards, but in ppl's journals. In my opinion, ppl *should* be able to state their own opinions!
Me and the hubby were talking abt an incident that occured recently in the SG group ... a girl who applied to the site was freaking out abt how much this site had gone down hill recently. But instead of saying it in a "proper" way, she made direct insults towards certain girls who she thought shouldnt be on this site. Saying things like "So and so looks like a man with boobs", and "this person is the epitome of white trash". Now what my man said, was "this girl was merely stating her opinion." Sorry! But if you state your opinion in such a way that you come off as being a 16 year old jealous freak, then no one is going to listen to your opinion. If she had said something along the lines of "The SG site has really gone downhill ... it seems that the site has lowered its expectations for models" or some bullshit like that, well then she may have had a legit argument there. The girl was removed the next day, BTW.
I happen to be a very opinionated person, and I say what I want, whenever I want, and I can back my shit up when confronted by an opposing view. But what can I say in my journal and what cant I? Recently my friend caught quite a bit of heat when he stated that he didnt like fat girls, that he prefered skinny women. Boy was THAT a mistake! Ppl were on him left and right. I think that we should be entitled to share our opinions in our JOURNALS without catching heat from other members. Heat meaning, negative comments and insults, not opposing views, hell, I LOVE A HEALTHY DEBATE!!
Right now, I happen to be working on a VERY controversial assignment for psychology class ... the debate on wther or not ADD or ADHD even exists. Now to the 5% of ppl in this world that supposedly have this disorder ... Im sure I dont exactly qualify for their "best friend in the universe" award.
To all the ppl that I offend with my comments here, I apologize. I dont mean anything I say here to be a direct insult to ANYONE, which is why I dont go around the site insulting individuals left and right. I never know if I should say anything in my groups or on the boards because Im off my own turf, and ppl just seem to take comments way too personally when they arent meant to be taken in that manner. I dont know, Im just ranting now ... anyone care to comment?

And as far as my straight friend goes... I have a semi crush on her. I pretty much grew up with her (she was my first real friend) and we just get along well. We click good. But it isn't like one of those "omg if i don't have her i will die" type things or anywhere close for that matter. She's just gorgeous and i adore her. And yeah I can understand about people getting offended. People that know me don't see me as a threat when it comes to things like that though. But every once in awhile someone will get wierded out. Oh well.
