Tomorow, I am shooting a new set. At this point I am surprisingly lacking in nerves, and feel oddly Zen about the whole thing (and I am hoping to stay that way) but this could have quite a lot to do with the fact I still have oodles of preparation to go before then, and I am lazilly procrastinating.
A couple of weeks ago, I saw an article about The Brighton Tattoo Convention in Bizzarre Magazine, which featured a really sweet picture of SGs Keikoo and Elf working on their stall. It looked so much fun, and reminded me of why I wanted to become an SG in the first place. Years of working in various London Art Galleries and helping out on Animal Rights Stalls have changed me into a real Extrovert and I would just buzz off being a glamourous Ambassador for the Site at events like this.
As for my new set, I have spent ages researching what sort of things work and what don't by looking at fuckloads of Live Sets and reading all the info that is kicking about on this site. When it comes down to it, all a person can do, is try their best when they do anything, and I really hope that my new set meets my own exacting standards, before I even attempt to submit it to staff for review.
Anyways, before I get too Emo about the whole thing (this Blog is starting to sound like Gwyneth Paltrow's awful Oscar Acceptance Speech!) I am from the North Of England aftrer all, and as a result like to keep a stiff upper lip at all times, I will move onto a totally unrelated topic.
Despite being 27 and way too old for these types of shenanigens, I have developed a massive crush on Carlos D, the bass player from Interpol. I think this is perhaps a manifestation of my current crush on a real life aquaintance who is a black clad musician from NYC, who I am unlikely to see again for a very long time as I cant imagine him coming back to London any time soon, and I sure as hell cant afford a flight to NYC (much as I want to go, to see all my freinds over there)
Anyways, I will sign off by leaving you with footage of the lovely Mr Denglar playing "Evil" on Later With Jools Holland, which you can all drool over (or maybe not!)
