Honestly there is not a lot of tech work in Asheville that pays. Asheville Community Theater pays Set Designers, Lighting Designers, and Costume designers, but not enough to live off of. There is also North Carolina Stage Company a professional theatre in Asheville, but they usually hire people they've worked with before. There are some summer places like Parkway playhouse, Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre, or Flat Rock Playhouse, but I don't know if they hire outside people. There is also the Asheville Lyric Opera and the Diana Wortham Theatre but again I don't know if they need people.

so... this being Sunday means that I've spent the last week living (sleeping, eating, bathing, loving) in my garden... I've left for only a couple of reasons... restock the cooler with ice or booze, get food or cigs.... & once to go kayaking in the ocean for an afternoon... otherwise I've been mostly naked, a little drunk & very fuckin' happy...

OK kidz... summer is finally here for me... been spending the last few days happily toiling in my garden in preparation for the party this Saturday... terraced in a new small patio on the hillside... my friend Shim built a new roof structure for the outdoor bath tub/shower... we bought a couple cheap futons with frames for outside lounging... lots of new plants...
