the fear that the state of things will not change can be our worst enemy... the audasity of those that lie to us... their disregard towards our basic rights & need... their tenacity at creating an environment of inequality, uncertainty & conspicuous over consumption... all of this is only empowered by fear, apathy & the belief that it can only get worse...
it is our beautiful burden to nuture truth, equality, community & the certainty that no matter how brutal and ugly this world may seem at times, it has always swung back towards empathy & beauty... and eventualy, it may even settle into a place where life & death are simply points on this wandering road of our existance and not commodities to be traded for our peace of mind
if the world around you... within you... is a source of pain... not the beautiful pain of sympathy and longing, not the gentle pain of desire... but the pain that is that continuous, suffocating, unmasked fear of loss... then it is up to you... to all of us... to chip away at the concrete and asphalt that has crept around our hearts and the hearts of those we love... perhaps it is even time to redefine what we know of love... time to embrace the stranger we have never met... time to hear the tears flowing through the words of a languge we do not speak... time to see our own souls in the eyes, the skin, the blood of another who has always seemed so different & distant from us... time to remember that we are, in fact, our brother & sister's keepers... that our only fear should be their pain... and our only pain should be their distance from our hearts...
this world will not "end" my friends but if we are not careful, our usefulness in it may soom run it's course
love to you
