So, I decided to talk a little bit about my favorite horror movies and why I like them so much. I must say that the list is not obvious, as I didn't select the best horror movies in terms of plot, direction, or critical acclaim. Many of the favorites among film experts are also my favorites, but today I chose based solely on my personal taste using the only criterion: the movies that haunted me the most after I finished watching them. Here we go:
- Strange Circus (2005)
- Director: Shion Sono
The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007)
- Director: John Erick Dowdle
- Martyrs (2008)
- Director: Pascal Laugier
-
As Above So Below (2014)

Claustrophobic, the film tells the story of an archaeologist involved in the quest for the philosopher's stone. In her search, she enters the catacombs of Paris with a guide to take her to the lowest and hidden points. What caught my attention the most in this film was the idea of mixing elements of horror with occultism concepts and exploring all the philosophy surrounding it.

Hereditary (2018)

Director: Ari Aster

I will never forget the experience of watching this film for the first and only time. It affected me so deeply that I didn't have the courage to watch it again. At first, it simply seems like a family drama with supernatural elements, leaving a question in our minds: is it all just a psychological issue? But the answer comes in a devastating way, and some scenes are impossible to forget.

Well, those are my top five favorites! Remember that I don't consider them the five best of all time, just the ones that had the biggest impact on me. And what about you? What are your favorites?
