Pain, physical vs mental
Someone once told me that they are able to cope with the mental pains by inflicting physical pain and damned if it don't work.
My brain has been in overdrive going over and over trying to figure out what could be done. I couldn't escape the feelings of sadness and loss and every thought that went through my head lead me right back to it making it worse.
But today I got hit by one of the machines at work, cut through my uniform, t-shirt and into my arm. It hurt like hell. Six perfectly straight cuts into my arm, not deep enough for a trip to the doc, but enough for me to get the med kit out of my backpack and fix it up. After a while I realized I wasn't thinking anymore, pain in my arm had shut down pretty much everything and I was just running on autopilot with a song stuck in my head I didn't even realize I was humming until somebody pointed it out. When my brain tried to go back to depressing mode I just flexed my arm and pain shot right through it and my vision blurred for a split second. I haven't felt this content with what I'm doing for quite a while and I'm sleeping better.
And that sounds disturbing

Now I will share the song stuck in my head
