I have looked into some groups today and read the thread on short stories...
I only enter groups which I think I'd contribute to regulary so I did not ask for membership and simply picked the face I did like best (getting to your blog) to add one author to the list:
Frederic Brown
He is not widely known, mostly read by other author (LOL) but especially his "Nightmare in Gray" is an iconic short story! (From "Nightmares and Giesenstecks")

announcement: i'm a redhead
...sorta. i dyed my hair this dark reddish color. it looks pretty good except in the front. there are some tiny spaces that i missed and they're still black, other people might not notice, but i do and that's all that matters. Not just that, I even depend on me to reset the DirecTV box for her when something goes wrong. *sigh*
