Good cause....

Little brother is running the NYC marathon this year. I'm excited for him, and proud. But, I'm even more proud that he has turned his athletic aspiration into a fund raising effort for Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

His brother -in-law has been dealing with this disease for years. He does well these days, but it is not a "cureable" cancer. He is a father, husband, and just one of those guys who will go out of his way to help people. Recent research is making it closer to cureable, and certainly the therapies are more effective at extending life and improving the quality of life for patients. Therefore, it is worth supporting research.

I've donated what I can. My brother has reached his fund raising goal, but every extra $5 helps even more.

A friend of mine is fighting multiple myeloma too

My friend is an olympian, author, father of four, and someone who has supported both the whitewater slalom community and the outdoor community as a whole, for a very long time. I hope he can continue getting the treatment he needs, and that research can keep finding new ways to extend his life.

Find a way to give, even $5.
AND, if you are in NYC on November 7, cheer on all the runners who are wearing orange sleeveless shirts with the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation logo on the front. They are ALL running for someone they love.

OMG!!! Because of people like you guys, my brother's fund raising efforts are not $1,300 OVER his goal.
Thank you thank you thank you. 93% of the money goes to genuine research. That is a HUGE number!!! Most charities have an administrative cost over 20% so often, less than 80% of the funds raised goes to actual research. MMRF has significanly less admin. costs, so more money goes to research, AND new therapies are being developed all the time. This is terrific.
Again, than you all for supporting MMRF and my brother's efforts in the NYC Marathon this weekend.
