The locals support us on this one so this is one of those petitions that might actually do something.
A special interest group that doesn't want to see whitewater releases convinced the Army Corps of Engineers to move the release to mid-week. Hmmmmmm.......... Probably so that when they drive to their Vermont weekend house from New York City, they can have the "quaint Vermont" experience without all the annoying "tourists" (forgetting that they, themselves are considered tourists by the locals)
Problem is, who the fuck has time to enjoy the traditional West River Festival during the middle of the week?
Nobody.
Not even the locals.
All politics is special interest.
If you could help us by signing this petition, then at least the special interest that will be served also serves the local community, and not just the couple hundred other tourists who think they are local because they have a weekend house somewhere.
