doing some last minute errands (ie going to Pearl Paint reluctantly, but at least I get what I needed this time) and driving through NJ. Yup. It's where I grew up. I take alot of shit for it, particularly from tough guys from NY who don't actually live in the city, but claim that Rockland County is so much different from Bergen County. Riiiiiiiiight. One suburb of NYC is different from the other.
Rush hour traffic. No big deal. Cut off. Horns honking. Common thing. Almost got crushed by two toughies in an accord tonight. So, logic thing, I toot the horn to say "hey, that was close. Take a chill pill dude" Mr. enlightenment stops his car, puts it in park (in the middle of traffic mind you) and he and his equally pleasant passenger get out to call me an asshole and give me the finger. Oops. My bad. Didn't mean to get cut off by you. Sorry my car is not shorter so weaving in and out of traffic would be easier for you.
I gotta get out of here and move back up to where people are not so pissed off at random stuff, and extra machismo does not fly. I am so sad that people don't have any place to vent their aggression. it's a useful emotion, a motivator to get up a moving to do something good. But, sitting behind the wheel of an average car, wishing it was a cool one, or looking at yourself in the mirror at the guym just is not an adequate channel for it. Sorry you are so pissed off Mr. Accord hot shot Hopefully nobody "looks at you funny" tonight, because I know that would just ruin your day.
