Oh, no doubt that HRC is completely clueless on any black experiences, much less "the black experience." It's even more sad that she can't seem to make an important speech on any topic; for instance, she could have turned any number of moments in the campaign in which she was being treated horribly for her gender into an opportunity to discuss the meaning of gender in America. But she wouldn't or couldn't. Maybe because she knew that it would kill her chances. My fear is that Obama did the right thing (no allusion intended, Spike) and he may lose points for it. It makes me admire him all the more, but worry for the future.

As for tact/tack--I meant tack. I have no problem with his tact. I didn't like his tack (i.e., his approach or take) on a few points of how to proceed from our deeply racist America to a better one. I also didn't like the whole, I know it in my genes line. But that's a pet peeve of mine in racial discourse.

I digress.

On to the important question.

Of all the quick-fix products out there in our wonderfully realistic society, I find it interesting that there isn't a "Instant Positive Attitude" OTC drug, or tape, or face powder, or clothing line, DIY 5-day guaranteed program hosted by Celebrity B, ...you get the idea...

Granted, there are tons of products directed at all of the symptoms of not having a positive outlook down to...

OK. So you know when you are thankful as hell that you landed a new job, but you aren't really sure if you can stomach it on a day-to-day basis? Or want to? But you kinda need to?

Welcome to my world.

Now I completely realize that there are far, far, far worse problems to have in this crazy roller-coaster we call life - and...

It's not the need of inspiration, it's the need of cash. Even though I'm broke, my husband and I are making a trip to Austin next week(love the credit cards). We're gonna stop off in Dallas for the Body Worlds exibit, have you heard about it? Or even better, have you been?

We have officially kissed Deep Ellum our collective "Go to Hell." Moved out into the 'burbs of Lakewood and hence are enjoying the greenery effects that is landscaping. Go figure. Plants grow around here. Back in Deep Ellum, the secretive society known as DART has finally unvieled it's diabolical plans to destroy any historic structure to make way for it's rail-o-death, planning to leave nothing...

Man that sucks... The last great bit of Deep Ellum gone to the man. Why can't we go back to the arts district of 96? Back when you could buy jewellry off a cart from a guy who you could swear could not possibly be making a living just selling crosses for a dollar... and art on the street painted to order, and always live music, and tattoo parlors that never closed. It was a slow and very painful death for all of us. But who knows, maybe it will rise again someday. It created and changed a generation of Dallasites. Ellum lives on in all of us.

I definantly will be doing so.. Thanks hun.. wink

Well, we just had a birthday...officially NOT in the 20's anymore. Fun.

About to go visit some family and be a nanny for my sister, just helping out & catching as catch can. Looking forward to some photography excursions and different surroundings for a bit.

Hoping everyone else is having a blast! smile
spaceboy:
Man, I'm getting mighty close to not being in my 20s. About half of me is felling old and the other half is welcoming the idea of not being associated with the twenty-some crowd.
art_prostitutes:
I guess there is something to say about kickin' past that 29-30 mark... but then again...immature 20ish kicks are pretty fun too. I remember thinking 30 was the end of life as anyone could possibly know it - that was Old! Decrepid! Ancient! Ha.
