A few weeks ago, I asked you all what you wanted to know about me....here's what @sugadaddi wanted to know!
"Of all your ambitions, be they professional, personal, travel, etc., which one would you want to fulfill the most?"
"Your books will be in libraries long after we’re both gone, and this is important"
My first love was a book, and after that, I fell in love again and again. I had always wanted to be a writer, whether it be poems or short stories, I wanted to be up on the shelves with the other great authors, changing lives with every turn of a page. I wanted to make people cry like John Green and keep people on the edges of their seats like Stephan King; I wanted to be among the heroes.
While I have many many dreams and goals, having an actual book of my own published is my biggest dream.
Below is a poem I wrote and had published in a magazine
The thing was, we never grew up. We still fought with our shadows and hid from the monsters in the closet, knowing their faces were all too real anymore. We thought that if we kept laughing and maybe worked a little harder, we could build a sandcastle that wouldn’t wash away. We thought the biting of the asphalt was the only thing that could make us cry and scream and that dirt was the staining of a true hero. But our smiles are being replaced with reds and pinks of “pleasure to meet you” and the stories of happily ever after are being replaced with the happily ever hour of brown bottles. But, we won’t ever grow up. These cigarette packs will be our plastic swords, and these suits our charades.
