I'm a little behind in my homework, but @missy and @rambo wanted to know what we gals were experts in.
I don't really think I can say I am an expert in anything. I feel that comes with age, and I'm still just a kid! (okay, 'young adult')
But, I am a talented writer, It's a deep passion of mine that started in sixth grade. Edgar Allen Poe and Franz Kafka have carried me a long way in my years.
It is also the reason for my tattoo on my ribs that reads: meet me at 4 a.m. I am a strong believer in the times of 4a.m., and 2 a.m., because you can't escape yourself during those times, you have to face yourself and your feelings. And so, I use those times often in my poems.
To prove myself, here is a poem you can find in my upcoming book- Love and Other Insanities :
You keep saying tomorrow is a new day, but the light in your eyes dimmed down long ago. The stars whisper secrets of letting go, but you learned the language of glass bottles and lost the world in a pack of cigarettes. You see universes in muddy puddles and have a grip on tragedy like no one else. They keep telling you to get out and greet the sun, but you already feel like a light. So, baby, don't look down. You're gonna crash and burn, and explode into a thousand pieces across the sky, and their gonna watch. Put on a smile, it's a new day.
