As days go by I get more and more lazy. Hence it being 10 days since my last entry...though, in all fairness, I haven't really done much, thus not much to talk about. But that all changed this evening...oh yes...I escaped from my prison known as boredom for a few hours to attend the My Chemical Romance concert. It was a ton of fun and they put on a hell of a show. Definitely check them out if you haven't yet.
This was my second concert in a club setting (the first being Andrew W.K. ). And my first show at Mr. Smalls (for all you Pittsburghers who read this). One thing I noticed is that it seems like more people went to the concert tonight for the "scene" and not actually for the music. Each little automaton with the same long, messy "haircut" wearing a different band shirt and jeans that a 2 year old girl would have trouble squeezing into are more worried about the fashion of the place than appreciating the music on the stage. There was this one girl who was sitting in a chair READING DURING THE BANDS!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!? Doing that at say, church, is one thing, but doing that somewhere you PAID to be at is just stupid. Act like you didn't want to be there...then why did you pay? Ahhh...the wonderful world of scenesters. I've found a new group to focus my hatred for the week
And, if I heard one more person go "yeah, I like their old stuff, but their new stuff is too mainstream" I was gonna vomit. People are so stupid. What's wrong with liking music just for music? So what if more people like it? And, oh...btw...punk, emo, whatever you wanna call it has become more mainstream. Idiots.
Enough ranting...it was nice to vent that a little bit.
Well, I'm gonna try and update this more often...I'm just really lazy. And for all you profile lookers and responders...if you haven't checked it out yet...check out lil miss morbid's profile and take her survey thing (update: june 15). It's pretty nifty.
If being mainstream is uncool...count me in...peace.
