My new theme song, and words to live by:
It's time to rise up, man up, get back up,
Never been or won't be broken,
Dust off then come back for more,
You gotta reach down, dig deep, break ground,
Show the world you won't be beaten,
Brush it off and then come back for more,
COME BACK FOR MORE!
From the new Five Finger Death Punch album, American Capitalist.
Over the past few months they have become a source of inspiration, a rock to hold onto as I fight against the small minded, little people without imagination and courage to do what's right by the people we support and serve with, and most importantly, the people in need who define our reason for being. It is a true shame that these small minded cowards claim to serve our country, but in reality they are slaves to their own fears and personal ambitions, unwilling to sacrifice what's necessary to fufill the unwriiten, unspoken pledge to our brothers and sisters in arms, that NO ONE WILL GET LEFT BEHIND.
Remember something , my friends. We in the military do not choose our wars; it's the politicians, whatever their motives, who send us into harm's way, and all we can say is "Yes Sir, we'll get it done". Not all of us are perfect, and yes, there are some who act like monsters, but these are people who would behave as such regardless of the circumstances, AND they are a VERY SMALL MINORITY. The rest of us work our asses off to do right by our fellow service members, our allies and partners, and yes, the people we are sent to help. As the Veteran's Day weekend draws to a close, do me a huge favor: if you know someone or meet someone who serves, take a moment, and say "Thank You"; you have no idea how two simple words can have such a profound impact on us.
