A STRANGE NIGHT
Wow. This is the decidedly oddest night I can remember in the sense of being just odd for its OWN sake, not related to anything I or anyone else have done in it. Its punctuation to a really strange couple of days. I know Ive called just about every day strange in recent history (and they have been!), but, again, this stuff is strange all on its own.
Its dark and cold out, and though its hasnt rained, or really been cloudy, in at least a week, its FOGGIER than Ive ever seen in Portland. Its so foggy that you can feel the droplets suspended in the air as you walk through it, and the taller trees have water pooling under them as they collect so much moisture from the fog that it can no longer overcome gravity and falls to the ground.
I honestly wonder if I shouldnt find some way to become nocturnal, or at least sleep REALLY strange hours. Im at my best both at night, after ten oclock, and early in the morning, from five to ten or something. In the early parts of the afternoon, about two or three, theres a big slump in the day. I get really tired, and its difficult not to take a LONG nap often two hours or more, even though I tell myself it will only been twenty minutes. How does one figure out a sleep schedule when one likes to stay up late, but get up early? Going to bed at ten or eleven is excruciating thats right when I want to get started waking up! But I dont feel good at all when I sleep until ten or so; eight AM is a good time to wake up, and six or seven is even better. Ive been trying to pretty much my whole college career to work out a functional sleep schedule, and it gets worse when I try to factor in homework and everyone else in the worlds schedules. I can see why people become tweakers.
