Star Trek Convention
Went to the Star Trek convention last weekend, and I was a bit dissapointed. Since I've been a veteran of the SD comic con which is gargantuan in size. My feet thrive with the pain of blood and blisters from the endless walks across the convention center (it doesn't help that I always wear super high heel boots). The vendor area for star trek was much smaller, and so was the activity list (program). But I suppose it's ok since it is a specialized event, whereas comic con is a menagerie of comics, film, cartoons, video games and so on.
I was also disappointed that I didn't get to finish my costume in time, I was trying to dress up as Lt. Uhura fromt the original series, the red short engineering/communications dress. I had even bought a bee hive wig, sigh...there's always next year.
The convention took place at the hilton in vegas where they have the 'Star Trek Experience' as a permanent venue. Which were pretty neat, I really did get a kick out of riding them. I must say though, the star trek crowd is much more polite, into character and generally sweet. Which made the entire trip worth it.
Trekkies have a heart of gold...

Nerds kick ass!
I went to the comic-con too. Man it's gotten so out of control. I remember when it was just a fraction of the people that would be there.
