Today I'm flying solo as my better half is on a prescribed burn in N. AZ. He won't be back until Sunday or Monday...assuming things stay in "control." We've had a fire just west of town, which took off yesterday. There is another northeast of town as well. Seems like they are popping up everywhere. We always have small ones in the COF every day...that's when the archys get called in because all the "real" folks are on the bigger fires. Both of my crewmates have their red card certifications.
And that is what I start work on today. I have 45+ hours of online modules to get done before I do my field day exercises with the hot shots and take my pack test. I just got over pneumonia two weeks ago so my lungs are still recovering. I'm a little worried about my endurance but I've got to get it done so I can get out there. I'm the only archy in my district office that does not have a red card. Everyone else can be called to go except me.
Hopefully I will get this done sooner than later so I can go out!
