it's been a rather emotionally tumultuous week, to say the least. very glad the next has begun, and so looking forward to new beginnings...
started talking to Rickrolled again, we had some of the best conversation we've had in ages, which was such a breath of fresh air. kind of like getting to know someone all over again, i'm looking forward to that...working through things, finding our footing, getting into some sense of normalcy again. it's a welcome feeling, to say the very least. it's been a while since things have felt right, i've missed that...and him too, of course.
so yeah, you can expect to see his charming face at upcoming SGNJ events, lol...
yesterday was a whirlwind of a day, spent the morning and early afternoon helping my friend teach the high school colorguard i was also teaching before i had to quit when i got a "real" job. two of the girls ran over to me at full speed and gave me huge hugs...those kids are incredible, so full of heart and vibrancy. it's such a wonderful feeling to think you've made even the tiniest impact on someone's life...i miss teaching, it was good to do it again, even if only for a few hours. got to choreograph a little as well, which is always creatively fulfilling.
then it was off to watch my old drum corps do their last sunday run-through of the season, as championships are next weekend. i actually made it through a whole season without getting sucked back in, amazing! it was really cool to see them though, i do miss performing, and i have to admit i wish they had done that show when i was there, it's really well designed and has a lot of my favorite drum corps elements to it. figures they'd go and do my kind of show once i'd left, grr.
from north jersey back to staten island, then right back to bergen county again to go to the OL with Zoomusikgrl and Rickrolled...ah, how i missed that place. 'twas great hanging out, and having the chance to talk some more...zoo nearly pissed herself with the trivia prize of pabst beer cozies. it was highly entertaining. ended up being quite a night indeed...the tides feel like they're shifting, moving forward into new territory that has so much potential to be absolutely incredible in so very many ways. life does indeed move on...i see a lot of growth and self-realization possible. it's such a relief to feel that honest positivity again...
