so i'm in a fabulous mood right now...a friend of mine whom i haven't really talked to in a while was e-mailing me asking how i was doing, and as i was writing about sg, my thesis, possible grad work, and so on, i realized things are really looking up right now and a lot more positive than i realized. having that kind of hope gives me so much in the way of motivation to get life in motion, and it feels fantastic...

put up my first "hopeful" set today, so i'm quite excited about that. my friend chris has been photographing me, we've both come a long way already in a month's time which is quite nice. we were originally using my camera - while it's a great piece of equipment, it is 8 years old already and only 3 megapixels. so he's borrowed a newer model from a friend that's 8 megapixels, but for whatever reason we were having a really hard time getting it to read light correctly, and getting clarity and lack of noise in the photos. the other night we finally had some success, and of course then the battery on the camera died, so we had to call it a night. were going to pick it back up last night, however...the place we were shooting at is now unavailable, so the set is what it is. (i was borrowing my friend's recently vacated apartment, and the power was shut off before she expected it to be. sigh.)

i was frustrated editing the shots last night - i've gotten feedback from a few folks already that it's hard to see finer details in the photos because the size is so small. the file sizes from this new camera are 4-6mb apiece, so i bumped the resolution down to 72 and unfortunately, to make the 200kb file maximum, the photos are smaller than i'd like them to be. i'm going to play some more later with perhaps taking down the jpeg quality option in photoshop, seeing what i can get by doing that. i just don't want to lose too much detail by reducing quality, but at the same time it's hard to see anything the size they're at right now anyway. ah, conundrum.

enough about my technical issues for now...as a little update, my kitty made it to his 22nd birthday on sunday. smile still eating like a boar. what a strange little creature he is...love him dearly.

that's all for now...my train of consciousness has come to a halt. biggrin

Well, most of the time lighting is an issue. It is for me still and I've been doing studio work for 30 years. But I still like what you're doing.

I have traveled and stayed in Morristown since 1975. I would estimate about 15 times, because of my previous work with AT&T, Bell Labs, and Bellcore - but now retired (thank God).

I should go back, take my studio equipment and have a shoot with you!!! smile

Thanks for sharing your work.

and while i can maybe see some of the tech issues with your pics, the main thing that i notice is that you are drop dead gorgeous and should have no problem becomming an SG. you DEFFINATLY have the stuff girl. good luck.
