Today I:
Got really into The Blue Sword. It takes place in the same "world" as one of my all-time favorite books, The Hero and the Crown. I have read The Hero and the Crown several times, so it is absolutely wonderful to be enchanted by the same author and similar setting and magic (in both the fantasy and literary senses), but with a new story and characters. I had to force myself to put it down because i didn't want to gobble it all up in one day.
Had leftovers from dinner last night for breakfast/lunch. Last night, J and i went to The Big Mamou in Springfield, MA for yummy Cajun cooking. I ordered chicken and sausage jambalaya. Oh soooo goood!!
Went on the internet to discover that Robin McKinley, the author of the two books i mentioned, was indeed an army brat. I had guessed this from noticing common threads in the three books by her i have read, and i was right.
Found a great cajun cooking site. I can't wait til next week when i can go grocery shopping and try some of these recipes out!
Talked with my mom opn the phone about the food (she loves cajun food and culture) and about her website "We Help Animals."
Emailed a nearby ferret shelter asking if they need volunteers. I have been meaning to do some volunteer work at an animal shelter anyway, and i love ferrets.
Got sick of surfing the 'net and decided to update my SG and go do something else.
Later folks!

Good luck with the recipe, the book, and the real world. I'm off to work in my own real world (work around the house that is), and along the way figure out what's breaking.
