Last night J and i went and saw X2. It was okay--i would rather have seen Matrix again. But J really wanted to see X-men, so that's totally fine.
Last night i asked him what he thought of the bondage photos of me that he finally saw. I got two main things out of the conversation:
For one thing, he doesn't seem to care about pictures in general. He says he doesn't understand how people can "just stare" at a picture for a long time. Basically the only reason he likes or doesn't like a picture is what else it reminds him of or makes him think about. So i asked him about beauty, like natural scenery or whatever, and again, not much intrinsic appreciation, it's more about the thoughts it triggers in him.
Now, I am an art history student. Beauty and art--whether human-made or purely accidental--are pretty much what makes my life worth living. So you can imagine how hard it was for me to even understand what he was saying, let alone identify with his viewpoint.
Then there's the bondage itself. I started to get the impression that he might not be as interested in dominance and bondage as i had thought. That part of the conversation got cut off so we could go to sleep, though, so i'm not totally sure yet. I want to lend him Different Loving and have him read it and talk to me about whatever strikes his interest. If he hasn't given domination much thought already, which i think he hasn't, he probably won't have a whole lot to say right off the bat. If he is willing to read the book first it will give him something to think about and the burden of the conversation won't be all on me.
In other news, i just took my astronomy final, which makes school officially over for the semester.
Shower time. . . . keep rockin', kids!

What'd ya think of X2? Better than the first, or you just weren't all that into it?
I don't know what comments I could make to you re: the Jay situation. Everybody's different, I suppose. And there are no rules that say you guys have to enjoy all the same things. My own experience has taught me that for me, we can be completely different people but I think the core interests need to be shared. Again though, that's my experience...
Most importantly, congrats on the finishing of the semester!!!!
