Rather than wait by the phone waiting to hear about work, I've been running about testing out my new Pentax 35mm. Still getting to grips with the fact it's mostly automatic, I'm so used to manual SLR's but today I found the manual override which means full shutter and aperture control. Yay!
Here's a few pictures I've taken with it recently then,
In other news, I'm slowly getting together my entirely unauthorised but fun 2 disc DVD of Creepshow, the longer version. Disc one will contain the workrpint and the option to listen to my ridiculous audio commentary should you feel brave enough. Disc 2 contains Tom Savini's Scream greats film and also some of his behind the scenes camcorder footage at the time the film was being made. It should be finished soon enough but I keep coughing during the commentary or tripping over the mic wire so it's slow going. It will be available for 0.00 and a bag of dry roasted peanuts to anyone who wants it afterwards.
Today I buried by friends hamster who was called Jenkins, by the river near us. He was over 3 which is quite good going for a hamster so we said our goodbyes. Hope he wakes up in a field of Dandelions somewhere.

I don't have anything comparible in my collection of dead things.
Just a lotta dead bugs, some dead birds, and such....
I did manage to buy a woodwind-type insterment (its reeds and such are missing, so it no longer can make a sound) made from a human femor.
I was told by its seller (an ancent man in a currio shop at the night market in cheng mai, Thailand -beleve it or not -sounds like a horror movie cleche, huh?) that the flute came from Tibet, and was smuggeled through china to Thailand.
I know the Tibetens love making art from human remains, so it sounded likely enough to me.
I really did like that illustration of the fly a lot. I'd love to see more. You really should keep working on that stuff. There is obvious talent and portential in that piece. It be a shame to let those skills go to waste. Although the world is full of shameful things.
Time restraints can be a killer too. I know that my painting speed has plummeted. It takes me so long to finish a piece now. It would be neigh impossible for me to produce any noteworth amount of work while holding down a forty-hour job.
Do you ever work in colors? In oils? Or water collors a la Audobon?
See you in chat today...
