Maybe it's because I'm trying in my mind to escape some rather depressing things happening at the moment but I'm finding myself thinking more about life on other planets. But not the stereotyped "greys" or anything. The one that intrigues me most is Jupiter's moon "Europa". It's the one that scientists think is the most likely candidate to possibly support life next to mars.
Basically they think it's possible that there is a warm ocean underneath the freezing crust of Europa( it's something like -230 degrees celcius on the surface!) because some of the images they got back showed patterns of ridges and cracks in the crust that suggest there is an ice shell moving over an ocean of water. I mean, what if this water did support life? An entire ocean of creatures we couldn't imagine! In a way it's exciting but also quite scary. We are still only scratching the surface of what exists in our own oceans and finding new species all the time. The thought of alien sealife which could be completely biologically different to anything on earth is mind blowing to me. Anyway, bring on some proper exploration of Europa as soon as possible I say!
And that's it really. That and lots of other silly things I'm thinking to escape the badness. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Unrelated to planets is my new album ( well not really that new but mostly unheard) which can be found on this page here A Seismic Illustration
Recorded last year, sat in hibernation for quite a while and now its escaped onto the net to do it's own thing.
I think I can now move on.
