So today Ryan got thrown into my family.
It was my grandparents (on my father's side) 50th anniversary. Yea...5-0! So of course we sat through a short ceremony, including a renewal of vows (which were just the "I so and so take you so and so" part of the vows) and a cute kiss (since my grandmother is very "proper/simple" and "had never kissed him in front of people before!") Then a lot of "Jesus and God kept them together all these years"....stuff....I kinda tried to not listen to that or the "Marriage is between a man and woman" parts.... I'm sure it took a lot for my dad to stay quiet and respectful. I almost wish I had gone with a "girlfriend" instead of my wonderful boy. Just to kind of shove it in their faces...but....it also wasn't about me or my families beliefs, so I chose to just "enjoy" the ceremony.
Afterward we went downstairs for food and some little dancing. Including some slow dance time with the Eskimo . (Dad also tried taking a few candid "cutie" shots of us, so we'll see....) The food was home cooked and pretty yummy and everyone had a good time. All of my cousins have grown up soooo much. I'm the oldest of the grandkids so I remember everyone else when they were tots!
Ended with cleaning up and opening the couple presents my grandparents got. (They had said no gifts, but 50 years is a pretty big event!) My grandmother probably cried every card/gift and she had cried through most of the ceremony, beforehand and apparently this morning a few times as well. They even had their car decorated a bit. Signs saying "Congradulations" (My cousin got a lot of shit for spelling it wrong lol, she's a freshman(?) in HS) and "50 years and still going strong." With balloons taped to the back. My grandma was really cute saying she hoped it would stay on so they could drive to church tomorrow with it.
My family was very welcoming with Ryan and even included him in a couple of the family photos. We also got one of just us! And not once did someone try and ask us when we were getting married. LOL
That was pretty much the "thing" of this weekend. I work tomorrow at 1pm and I think we're supposed to go to the LST 325 WWII ship museum in the morning...possibly meeting up with my mother's side (father, stepmother, brother and his wife) for lunch...maybe.....lol
That's all for today. Ryan's wanting me to finish this up so we can cuddle or have sex (if my mom would get to freakin bed!!)

I don't know why the fuck they have to put the man and woman shit in there. I was at a wedding in July, and the priest was charismatic and funny, and I was enjoying him....and then he started with that and I turned out.
