I've asked myself this question many times:
Why are people so pretentious?
I think it's insecurity. Or I suppose it could be a deep rooted need to feel important. "Hey! Look at me... look, look.
I'm someone, I'm something. Let me astound you with my importance."
These kinds of self-absorbed yahoo's are so psychically damaged that they don't even comprehend the absurdity of their own lives.
I don't understand it myself.
I prefer humility. It's always good to understand that an individual is just one small microcosm of an immense interchange of thought and action that comprises the portrait of humanity.
