ApostropheNow in... "I don't like goodbye, so I'll say goodnight"
So...
So, I recently found out an old friend/antagonist has a malignant brain tumor.
I got together with another old friend/antagonist and we decided to convene at his home for a pep talk via Skype for the benefit of our ill comrade. These are guys I've known for almost 30 years. I don't know how things are done where you come from, but I don't forget my friends/antagonists.
It was decided to re-assemble a circle of old friends with the objective of attempting to generate enough positive energy to help our ill comrade find inner peace (whatever that means). Catching up with the missing members of the circle has proven to be disheartening. Y'see, finding them was the easy part, learning how things panned out over the years was depressing as fuck. However, that's just my prerogative.
At this moment, my ill comrade is most likely recovering in an ICU, having just emerged from surgery to remove enough of the cancerous tumor in his skull to ease some of the pressure on his brain. It is presumed that this may buy him some time. On a side note: if and when you awake, some hospitals send you home from brain surgery after only a day or two as an inpatient. I think that takes all the fun out of being in ICU.
So...
So, as an old man I feel obligated to pass on this advice: short of literally stabbing you in the back, there's nothing that can't be forgiven of a friend.
