Day 17 .....

Yaddada, yaddada. I saw the biggest lizard I've ever seen in my life yesterday. At least 30 inches long. Neon green. It appeared, from a distance, to be wearing a form-fitting black hoodie. It was walking out of a car wash.

If nothing else, this trip may help me grow. Somehow.

My Dad is vehemently anti-Obama. In his mind, everything that's wrong with the world is Obama's fault. To a lesser extent, black people are to blame for creating Obama, or something. My Dad's a racist prick. No big deal. You know lot's of folks like that, I'm sure. Now, here's the rub. My Dad walks and talks like a redneck ..... but he's not a redneck. Not even close. He's fuckin' Filipino. OK. That's not a big deal either, really. But, I resent rednecks. Hell, I'll even put all my fuckin' cards on the table for ya right fuckin' now ..... I have issues with white people. So, in a sense, I too, am a racist prick ..... It goes without saying that I can't get through a day without this paradigm, this conundrum, this crazy racist shit, fucking with my perception of myself and my reality.

Am I a hypocrite? I don't know. I don't think so. Because I'm deeply ashamed of my prejudices.

And I don't want to hate on anybody.
