I went on a very long walk Friday.
I was thinkin' about a friend who died, Halloween was his favorite pagan holiday. I decided to pay a visit to the cemetery to leave a tribute. I poured one out for him, a Becks tallboy (he would've approved). I left 23 M&Ms on his tombstone. I sat down in the shade of an orange tree beside his grave and listened to Shine On You Crazy Diamond on the Nano. It was all quite pleasant, despite it being a cemetery.
I took a few photos, I haven't examined them yet. Once in awhile I get an orb.
I followed the canal home. Coincidentally, I came across an apparent accident scene; a chalk outline on the concrete pathway with what I assume are forensic notes about the evidence printed neatly, also in chalk, next to the sprawled silhouette "Exhibit A... B... C... " et cetera. Someone else had come along and added a side note for posterity, "Sight Of The Big Biff - 10-23-08 - Rest In Peace".
I appreciate that I'm not alone in being flawed with an adolescent sentimentality.
