"The Lookin' for a Freakshow Girl Blues"
Hi!
The other night was kinda rough. I didn't get a minute of sleep.
Right around midnight I decided to grill some steaks. It was freezing outside.
I slammed a pint of Canadian Club, cranked up the stereo and threw open all the windows. Viva insomnia!
A drunken stupor in the wee hours of the morning and the primal thrill of standing next to a fire is good for the soul. I thought about setting up some bottles and cans and target shooting with my new .357, but the booze, grill smoke and sleep deprivation put me in a haze.
I had a pretty good meal put away by 3 AM and I was feeling alright, I stretched out in the grass and looked at the stars for a little while. Dew began to condense on my face and arms. If not for the Howlin' Wolf blaring inside the house, the night would have been dead quiet.
I thought about what kind of woman might be into this type of activity...
Maybe a werewolf or a vampire or someone from Spain...
My nose started to get stuffy, I snorted a shotglass full of saltwater.
Got to sleep around 7 AM. It was more like a string of catnaps. It was an incredibly beautiful day outside and I felt compelled to stir and rearrange myself on the floor in the warm sunbeams spilling through the various windows of my home. A pleasant breeze drifted in and out, I felt like the high country was smiling on me.
It's all paid for, but money can't buy this sense of satisfaction. That's my day.
The best part of it all is that tonight I feel tired enough that I may actually get to bed at a reasonable hour. No promises.
ps thanks for the testimonial.
