hi hi,
My yarn convention yesterday was amazing. I bought the most vibrant, beautiful, jaw dropping yarn you could ever behold. I would take pictures of them, but I don't think it would do the colors justice. They are that rich and vivid.
The irony...anyone who has ever spent any time with me knows I normally only wear black shirts and jeans. Thats all I wear. But when I knit, I knit with the most vivid bright colors. It just seems such a waste to knit with black and grey, when there's electric purple and jeweled blue and pumpkin orange. I bought this breath-taking deep jeweled blue silk for a sweater, the brightest orange mohair ever to grace the earth for a shawl, with these amazing red streaks in it. I bought this rich jeweled purple/plum/red for a sweater with navy to line the cuffs and neckline. Multi-colored army green for socks, this lush navy blue for a shawl, a multi-colored red/purple/orange for a shawl, and a multi-tonal red for another shawl. This yarn will become all my projects for the fall and winter. I can't even describe the colors properly, they are just that breathtaking.
I also bought the cutest vintage buttons ever. These small little hot pink shell buttons, these red and white ones with a flappers face on them, and these orange and white stipped round buttons that look like candy. I normally don't get excited about buttons...but this woman's selection was amazing and mostly all vintage. Just...wow. I could have bought enough buttons for 30 sweaters if I had spent more time there.
And I saw so many delicious shawls. Just..wow. I was almost afraid to touch a few of them, they were so delicate and light. Like cobwebs....just amazing. Thats what I want to do...I want to make something that will float, something that people would almost be afraid to touch...
I spent hours wandering around....and it wasn't even that big, that was the amazing part. I'm just completely rejuvinated with my craft. I want to start 20 projects today...
I bought my mom a needle felted pumpkin. I plan on going home at some point today and I like to pick her up something whenever I go somewhere. I need to buy some mums on the way home too....so she has flowers to look at when she walks onto the porch. I thought about her alot yesterday...all the beautiful yarns I wanted to show her. Its times like those that I really miss her. I'll have to take some of the stuff I bought home to show her.
I need to shower and eat breakfast. If I get around to taking pictures I may update my knitting file with picture of current projects and new yarns. It would be easier just to have you all over my house to see it....but until that can happen, pictures will have to do.
Have a good Saturday everyone!
