Hey kiddos,
I'm waiting patiently for news. I'm hoping its good.
I haven't heard good news in such a long time I've forgotten what it sounds like.
Even though I'm not feeling all that well I'm going to try and keep this post complaint free. I'm sick of complaining, even though thats all that really plays over and over in my head. I'll keep my stories of allergy induced woe to myself.
...music I'm listening to currently..
*Her Space Holiday - Home is where you hang yourself
The most depressing yet lighthearted album you will ever hear. Seriously...just look at the title!
*Explosions In the Sky - All of a Sudden I miss Everyone
It doesn't have the emtional punch that the previous albums have, but I still love it.
*Selected Galaxie 500
A promotional cd I got ages ago, but has the best mix of songs. Their cover of Ceremony from Joy Division is the best cover I've ever heard.
*Ida - Will You Find Me
The late 90's and early part of this decade is the peak of indie rock...in my opnion at least. So many great bands, labels and albums. Zines still ruled and there was no crappy myspace buzz to make horrible bands popular. And yes, I did like that fact that it wasn't hip yet. This album always reminds me of NY and going to a zine fest sponsored by a still early form of Insound.
*The New Year - The End is Near
I heart the Kadane brothers and all they do.
*Julie Doiron - Woke Myself Up
I love the fact that she always sounds shy and self-conscious.
Kind of a depressing lineup. Just the way I feel as of late I guess. I just want to listen to Dean Wareham sing all day and reminisce about 10 years ago.
Gosh I feel old.
Next entry....my definition of "aging hipster" music.
