Ok, so the only time I have to update this thing is in the morning. And the length will largely depend on how long i can go before my hungry stomach takes over to find cereal.
I want to first and foremost say a HUGE thank you to Teena and blackcorvidae for hosting a great party! It was fun. I saw alot of people I had not seen in awhile, met great new friends, and got to ignore all the SG"localgroup" drama bullshit for a night. (because friends are friends, and I don't really care if one person doesn't like them or not. Cut the petty bullshit people!)
Anyway, backing up a bit. MD Sheep and wool Festival was fun. My friend and her husband came over the night before with beer and pizza. We got to sleep around 1am and I woke up around 5:30am. It was painful to say the least. But my friend and I dragged our sorry asses to a bus waiting to whisk us away.
It was a fun time. I pushed and grabbed and shoved my way to some beautiful Koigu. I bought enough handmade soap to last me a year. I got giant hanks of lace weight, sock yarn, and the weirdest tasting potatoc chip/french fry hybrid things ever!
It was a fun event, but it also made me realize that the store has definately burnt me out a bit. I wasn't as excited about the whole thing as I had been previous years. Maybe I was just exhausted from the lack of sleep, or maybe my head was in the wrong place, or maybe it was my painful feet, but something was definately off. I think I need time away from the knitting culture so I can really appreciate it again. My zeal will come back to me, I just need to take some time with my work by myself.
Back to the party. It was fun. I don't want to list every single person i talked to, since I know I'd forget someone, but it was great seeing everybody. I really needed that outlet after feeling so blah about my sheep and wool outing. It was almost depressing until I got to the party, then I was happy, being surrounded by friends and not having to talk about yarn or knitting (I mean, I did briefly but it wasn't the only conversation I had with her, and the girl I was talking to was a peach! photosweetie). So YAY!!!
This week has felt like its going in slow motion. Yesterday honestly felt like it was never going to end.
Tonight is Mono and Pelican, tommorrow night is Mogwai. I'm looking forward to both, I just wish they didn't both fall on my ten hour days at work. Its going to be this insanely long day and night. I'll probably just collaspe on Friday.
Ok..now I need to go find breakfast.
