I'm so tired and exhausted. My brain is fried. All I seem to think about is yarn anymore.
Today we got in a shipment of 10 boxes, 9 of them were GIGANTIC. Like, I can't pick them up or carry them. That two stacked on top of each other comes up to my chest. Anyway...yeah...9 boxes in a teeny tiny store. Mosty of my day was spent moving yarn in the back, jumping over boxes repeatedly, trying to remember just what colors we had in stock to save myself a trip and a jump, and helping the millionth stupid person who wants to knit a scarf.
Quick rant on top of box:
Scarves are stupid people. Come on....you've learned a craft that has been around for hundreds of years. You can make almost anything. So STOP IT WITH THE FUCKING SCARVES!!!! This obsession with scarves is proving my point that the general population has no sense of artistic desire or a sense of patience. Make a fucking sweater already or leave me the fuck alone! I have no patience for your butt ugly color combinations and your desire to make a scarf just because your too damn lazy to make something else! (if your making it for warmth or doing something creative...then...thats a different story, please continue)
Off the soap box.
Yeah...so it was a hectic hectic day. And I've realized its obscene just how much I know about yarn now. My boss is amazed at my memory and my knowledge of most of the store inside and out.
The ironic thing....I rarely get to knit anymore. After a long day of moving boxes, I just want to veg infront of the tv. So...my poor sweater and shawl sit in a pile in front of my couch. Its such a tragedy.
I'm praying to anyone that I don't get the call to work tommorrow. I want Friday to be my one day off, since I need to work on Saturday too (filling in for some girl..grr) Hopefully it will be a day of knitting the hated scarves for the customer, getting my hair chopped, and then tommorrow night going with my fellow yarn slingers out for a holiday dinner. Maybe consuming much needed alcohol after that...or perhaps Saturday night. I need a drink soooooo badly its sad.
I need to go eat and work on....brrrrr.....the dumb scarves. Hate hate hate them!!!!
Keep your fingers crossed I don't get that call!

A follow up to my rant.
Scarves are ok, if thats all you can honestly make and don't have the means to go find yourself a good teacher. But people who have the means, who have a good local yarn store, who know how to increase and decrease, and still ONLY make scarves. Well...thats just damn sad and a waste of a talent.
