getting over the flu and still having a fever ought entitle me to putting valentines day festivities off for a few days.
...but apparently it doesn't.

When m'lady and I got together I laid down the ground rule that I absolutely do not do Valentine's Day. I don't need a holiday to do special, romantic things with m'lady and I feel that a day where I'm obligated to do them cheapens the sentiment.

I believe this is middle period Heidegger. "Letter on Humanism". My 20th Century Continental class is just full of people who ask pointless questions in class and don't even seem to think before they ask them. There are alot of name-droppers in the class ("Just so everyone knows, I believe Jaques Derrida was heavily influenced by Heidegger.") and people who ask if Heidegger believed in God, or some other nonsense that is totally unrelated to the reading or its implications.
But yes, I like Heidegger.
