So I finally got a job. Took long enough.
I'm am now a Production Chef for a company that provides home delivery of healthy home-cooked meals. We cook for people who are on a 1200 or 2000 calorie intake program and we also make Atkins approved meals as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes.
After cooking on a line in a busy restaurant for so long it is really cool to be cooking food in a healthy manner. We never use white flour or sugar, canned ingredients or trans fats. Its refreshing to cook with fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, whole grains, organic ingredients, foods rich in fiber, and indigenous and seasonal foods, though it has been a challenge to not cook with butter!
