Today my mom+her boyfriend and I went to Dallas for a Lana Del Rey concert. Lana is my mom's absolute favorite singer lately, and it fell on mother's day weekend...perfect!
Not quite...
We had torrential downpour most of the drive there, and it took ages longer than we anticipated, but hey whatever. Once we get into Dallas the weather is fine, besides a bit of gloom, but no rain.
We went to a neat vintage shop, went and said hey to my tattoo artist down there, then went to the best vegan restaurant. Seriously this place is my fav! I had a "Parmesan" wrap with so many veggies, seitan, ranch and pesto and deliciousness, and also a Turtle Caramel Sundae. YUM!
Anyways, so it takes us another hour to get to the concert venue that is only a few miles or so from this restaurant because SO many people were going. We get in, and hear the rest of Courtney Love's set...wait about another hour or so and an announcer comes and we all start cheering because we're excited for Lana...but instead they cancelled the event just like that. There had to have been at least 15,000 people there and they all starting booing and yelling at once.
2 hours after the start time. After Courtney already played a full set. And after we waited a whole extra hour.
A lot of the seating is covered, and so is the stage and there was not even a drop of rain since we had gotten into Dallas.
So crazy. I've never heard of a concert that's already started getting cancelled.
I just hope they reschedule far enough out to where my mom and I can still go!
I'm not even that mad though because I would literally drive to Dallas JUST to eat at Spiral Diner.
I think my favorite part is my mom and her bf said they wouldn't have even guessed it was vegan food if no one had told them!
Tell me about your weekend so far!!
