Concerts, Concerts, Concerts!!!
The last two weekends I have spent my full Saturday attending both the annual Sasquatch (26 bands) and EndFest (20 bands) music festivals! Combined I was able to see the following bands:
Aquaduct/Bloc Party/Smoosh/The Dears/Ray Lamontagne/Arcade Fire/Wilco/Modest Mouse/The Pixies
Kasabian/The Caesars/Tegan and Sara/Hot Hot Heat/Vendetta Red/Kaiser Chiefs/Social Distortion/Interpol/Queens Of The Stone Age
Highlights of Sasquatch were Arcade Fire and Aquaduct. Amazing live bands! Ray Lamontagne is also amazing, but an outdoor music festival is not the setting to see him play.
Highlights of Endfest included Kaiser Chiefs and Social Distortion. Both bands were so great to see live. I love Interpol and Kasabian, however they arent really outdoor music bands either. They are better in a dark club accompanied by blaring light shows. All the sets were short, but that was okay since there were only a few bands I could of used a bit more of. Queens Of The Stone Age could of played longer especially since they were headlining. We tried to sneak out a few songs before they were done, but underestimated their playing time and got stuck in traffic for a bit.
Also, my birthday was last week, and freckle surprised me and took me to a Sleater-Kinney concert. What a sweet girl Their new album, The Woods, is great. Glad to see that they are evolving and remaining interesting.
