My weekend was pretty rad.
Saturday was UFC night. Dinner at home, then out with the boy and some of the guys (and girl) from the gym to discuss Nick Diaz and his awesome-ness and other such topics. Then over to another friend's house to actually watch the UFC. Which was fun, aside from the fact that pretty much every guy I liked lost, and...

Good to see that you are getting along. So I bought myself a used bmx. I realy don't like mountain bikes. I live behind the dinner and I rode all the the way to the beach at south forest yesterday. I use to be in the NBL so I am trying to click of some miles, and get my heat rate up. I am still scared I am going to have a heart atack because I am still smokeing. Tell me which shop you work at in town because I am ridding on a bent rim. Good to see that you are writeing
Enough negative. Even though I think the Oscar nominations are shit and I'm terrified of Alito and I can't believe that GWB NOW wants to talk about energy problems? (Because he can't talk about anything else without admitting his gross incompetence?)
I mean, I admire the politics behind the Oscar nods, but there were political movies this year much better than Munich (Syriana and The...

i was so impressed with that round kick. i always wonder, how the fuck can these guys throw round kicks that hit clean and don't even phase their opponents? and even worse, the guys who throw high round kicks and fall flat on their backs. a well-executed round kick should keep you balanced AND hit with the force of a tree-trunk. the only danger in throwing one should be opening yourself up for a take down. a powerful round kick should obliterate a block or a trap. when vera hit that kick (it wasn't even a clean shot) it just destroyed that guy. that's how it's done.
in the prelim fight paul buentello kicked gilbert cleanly about four times in the chin. you have to throw a very pathetic kick to not be able to phase someone with a shot so clean. it doesn't matter how big you are.
i was very psyched to see someone actually use a kick like that properly.

Are you getting hitched?
Nobody else is talking about it.
They confirmed that fucker.
Only 24 Democrats were willing to vote for a filibuster. And one independent.
We are so completely fucked. Get yr abortions now, because they won't be legal in half this country for much longer. You might want to stockpile birth control, too, although I may be getting a wee bit ahead of myself.

nick diaz is the fucking shit! his fight with robbie lawler was so gusty. i think joe riggs is extremely over-hyped, so i'm looking forward to seeing nick diaz make a mess of him, then i want to see diaz v sanchez II, because i thought that was a very indecisive victory for diego sanchez.
we will have our usual ufc party as well.

FILIBUSTER ALITO NOW
Harry Reid met with progressive lobbyists on Tuesday and told them he has nearly 44 votes against Alito, but there are 8 Democratic Senators who will not support a filibuster.
Only 41 votes are needed for a filibuster. If Reid has nearly 44 votes against Alito, every one of those Senators should support a filibuster or their vote against Alito is meaningless....

I probably will go talk with an artist pretty soon... I just get so impatient waiting until I figure out my life before I decide to get something done that could fuck me over later.
As for jury duty, my main issue is that they scheduled me right in the middle of my finals/critiques, when I barely have time to sleep a couple hours at night, much less spend a day in court. I'm probably going to have to either call and have them move it earlier, and then try to talk my way out, or have the mailroom "accidently misplace it."
And yeah, the UFC thing was, while accurate, pretty frightening.

I had a long, lovely weekend with a spontaneous day off to spend with J., all day. It's so rare with my busy schedule and other people's to have an entire day to do nothing but enjoy each other's company, from rolling out of bed to breakfast, talking, shopping, visiting friends, dinner and ice cream and sex and long silly conversations curled up together before...

I love his work.. if I end up waiting until the summer or can't find someone I like up here, I'll definitely go to him.
boundcreature:
i think his conditioning would be the better of me.
My iPod keeps playing "Just Like Heaven" at me. Granted, right now it's going through songs alphabetically because I had a great, serious, burning need to hear "Jolene" by Cory Branan (not the Dolly Parton song) and then "Jolene" by the White Stripes (yes, the Dolly Parton song). But still. Kind of fits my current mood of being a fuckin' sucker.

I need to see some of what you're writing!
I'll see if I can make some time on IM tomorrow and we'll catch up if youre around.
Oh by the way, don't overthink the emotional stuff. Wallow in it like a pig in mud. Oh yeah, I went there.

Tomorrow is my day off, and I have a date with the hairdresser and then with a showing of Brokeback Mountain, finally.
I am watching Rollergirls. I want to move somewhere and be a roller derby girl! I'm tough enough, I swear.
I had something to say, and I'm failing miserably.
Thanks for all the input on my last question.
I think I'll edit...

What's up, girl? Just wanted to say hi.

sex and dying in high society...
well, not really. more like sex and breakfast food in low society. and being busted out by my dad this morning--luckily we were dressed and just sleeping.
anyone ever dated someone whose religious beliefs were vastly different than your own? I know, it's passe to subscribe to organized religion or some such shit, but what if you fall for...

True dat.
Lord knows Spurrier and the Florida Gators had Peyton's number in college.
He is still a LONG ways from being the go-to QB that can win you the big game.

yeah... i'm doing a bit better now. my roommate referred to me as a "piss-ass bitch-ass, cranky old bastard" she made me laugh, even though i didnt want to. i'm also feeling way better now that the turntable is hooked up and i can listen to london calling. london calling is my ultimate perscription for a bad mood. mick and joe and company always know how to jump start me.
and yes, winter is a relative thing, but i require at least a dusting of snow. even in portland i could look at mount hood and just knowing there was snow up there was reassuring.

Three hours of tattooing today, and it looks fucking GREAT. I heart Ricky. It's all swollen and puffy and gross, but I'll post pictures as soon as it's not. But meanwhile--colors. Yay. I also got random insight into the mind of the guy from someone who's known him a wee bit longer than I have. It is always good when you like their friends. It's...
