Some random observations:
1. New Batman movie kicked a hell of a lot of ass. Go see it, like now. And if you haven't seen Lords of Dogtown, do that too. Nothing beats summer movies that are actually good.
2. Rainy Sundays make me want to listen to every version of "Gloomy Sunday" that I've ever heard. I have Billie Holiday, Marianne Faithfull, and Lydia Lunch's versions on CD or computer. I need Sarah McLachlan's and Diamanda Galas's, and any others you can think of.
3. Father's day. Called the boy to wish him a happy one, but he is busy being a good daddy. Yet another person that has known him for a while gave me a gushing recommendation for how rad a guy he is. I think all of this adds up to him getting a kickass Aoife backrub and some quality cuddle time next time he's got a night off from playing Father of the Year.
4. I wished my friend Shannon a happy father's day today because she's a single mom who gets absolutely no support from the baby's daddy, so she deserves two holidays.
5. Watching yourself on video is ten times weirder than listening to yourself on tape. You'd have to be some kind of egomaniac to enjoy editing a movie starring yourself--which of course, Mel Gibson is. However, since the video-interview was with my favorite rock'n'roll boy, Ben from Lucero, I suffered through it. iMovie is indeed very easy to use.
6. Work makes me feel like I've been run over by a truck.
7. I have had every type of headache imaginable in the past few days. Today it was that awesome kind that hits right behind the bridge of your nose. Fuck my sinuses.
8. I have been in a complete creative rut. Writing too many record reviews and doing interviews and being stressed to shit has done that to me. Will relax a bit and see if I can write.

I thought it was really good. Fuck how authentic it was, it made me want to go skate with my friends, no other movie has ever done that.
I say it's worth seeing.
