In NC for Lucero show last night. Really, I can't tell you how much I love that band. Most other bands I love that much are long broken up or played their best stuff before I was born. I think I was born too late, or too early.
But NC has been fun. Relaxing. Over the crap that was my birthday week, shopping, met some interesting people, and got out of my house, my head, and the love triangle which I sometimes think exists only in my head.
Besides, who needs crushes on boys you've known forever when there are lovely tattooed boys in cowboy boots and white T-shirts with whiskeyrough voices to chat with?
And they played my favorite song, the one I stole my AIM name from, the one that's quoted in my profile, that I've never heard him sing live and I wanted to melt and have someone to kiss.
I fear that in general, I am slipping into the "just friends"category with too many people. I would like more of my male friends to have healthy doses of crush on me. Well, really just two of them.
Maybe they just hide it well.
Across the river you can dance all night
A pretty little girl that I left behind
I know you're not waiting on me
Look at you girl you're just skin and bones
You're breaking all the hearts of the boys back home
And I know you're not waiting on me
Well all right
Drove across the river
Made me sleep in the van
You were making time with the boys in the band
And you know I'll say its all right
Look at you little girl you're all grown up
You say it don't matter and you sound so tough
You know I'll say it's all right
Well all right
A girl built for trouble from Arkansas
And a boy with the most metal heart of all
You said we're gonna work on that when I get back
When i get back you're gonna break this heart
Well all right

It is super duper easy to meet people here. I mean, hell, look at how nice and friendly I am. Most people I have come across are the same way. Of course they are not as clever or as devisatingly beautiful as I...
Cheap nights out are easy to find depending on what you like to do. Many a night I have found myself sitting in my bar, nursing a coke (which they gave me for free, bless them) listening to some DJ or just talking to strangers, occationally working on some stuff on my laptop (because, I swear, this whole friggin town is wireless). Shows can run anywhere from free up to maybe 15$ for a big name or touring act.
As far as dancing, yes, depending on who you are wanting to go see and what you call "dancing"
And as for robert rodriguez...I dont know where he lives but I do know where Matthew McConoughey lives and I did once get drunk with Quentin Tarantino here in town. Ya gotta make do with what you can, ya know
Feel free to hit me up on AIM sometime
