Blah.
I honestly was about to cancel rebilling on my account since I am literally never here, and too brain-dead to bother updating when I am. But it snuck past me, and so I've got another 3 months to decide whether this place is worth the cash anymore. The number of people I actually keep up with solely through this place is dwindling, and judging from the shrinking journal comment counts, nobody cares to check in and read how busy and tired and happy-in-love I am.
So: quick update.
1. In love. Yes, I am. He's 28, tattooed from head to foot (literally), a personal trainer in Muay Thai and boxing, and looking to have his first pro fight this year sometime. In a former life, he was a body piercer. He's from Noo Yawk (and still talks like it) and doesn't drink, smoke, or mess with drugs stronger than energy drinks. And he's pretty much all I could ask for in a boyfriend. He spoils me rotten, makes me laugh, gets along with my parents, and....yeah, that too.
2. Work. I do it all the time. I hate it, but it pays the bills. and someday I will not have to work this much. I've got a sideline freelance gig that pays (a local ad rag) and a couple that don't (kaffeinebuzz.com, newsarama.com) and a fiction project that is languishing while I am retardedly tired all the time.
3. Spare time: I spend a lot of it at the gym. My right foot is currently a mass of bruise from wednesday's Muay Thai class, but I like actually learning to do things properly. so not only can my boyfriend beat up your boyfriend, but I can beat him up too. I'm getting better at video work and the boy is running circles around me with iMovie, so our little production company is getting off the ground.
4. Social life: when it's not with people from the gym, it's long-distance phone calls. I'm getting to that stage of life where my friends are coupling off and settling down, I have weddings to go to and baby gifts to buy, and going out to the bar holds zero appeal. I would love to go dancing or see a good band, but I am so tired it wouldn't be any fun anyway.
So yeah, life isn't too bad. With the amount of money I will have saved by the time I'm out of here, if I move and get a good job, I could put a down payment on a house. MY OWN SPACE. How rad would that be? I definitely want to own one before I'm 30.
