Why do I feel like this guy read my journal entry? Ha. Wish I could take credit. It's a New York Times editorial on Johnny Cash, and you should read it, too.
Thanksgiving weekend is over and with it comes the feeling that I'll never spend time with these same people like this again. I saw my old friend Erik for the first time since he was in high school, had my usual run-in with Rachael (who told me that her mother had been asking about me. didn't know her mother knew me that well.) There's something bittersweet about seeing old friends, seeing how different we've become, but I love it. People have gotten married, broken up, had kids, moved, graduated, and sometimes I hardly recognize them.
Still, I need to live less in the past. I'm still full speed ahead, kickboxing three times a week, working, and trying at the same time to relax, clear my head and take care of myself. Heading for Philly on Tuesday to do lots of work, research, and see some rock'n'roll and hockey, of course.
Getting older only scares me when I'm surrounded by my past.
New Tattoo.
