So I was in Anapolis tonight with a few people, just sitting by the water, when suddenly this kid just fallsin the water! It was crazy...all these people starting screaming, and I (as I'm sure many other did as well) went through this sequense of thoughts/reactions in a matter of 60 seconds.
1. SHIT! I should go help get that kid out of the water
2. Eww, that water is smelly and dirty....
3. Wow, there are already alot of people trying to help, should I bother?
4. I don't want to get wet if I don't have to....
5. Is he gunna be ok, maybe I should have helped..
6. Fuck it, he's ok...right?
7. Oh well.....
Turns out the mother instictivly jumped in after him and saved her kid from drowning...then all these people pulled the two of them out..then the boy(who was of course crying his head off) was given his sister's pink hoodie that read "princess" (in rindstones I may add..) and her pink flip/flops....I felt bad for the little girl, she didn't do anything wrong and her parents start stealing her clothes right off her body! I would further like to say that this little boy is not only going to be afraid of the water from now on, but confused about his sexuality. I feel humbled to have witnessed such a life changing event in this child's life. I really don't think he could walk away uneffected by such things....

Stupid kid shouldn't have been so close to the edge. If there's anything I learned from growing up near Baltimore and the Inner Harbor, it's that you don't get near the goddamn edge of the cement, for fear of (A) falling in, obviously, and (B) hearing a severe tongue lashing from the parents ("don't get near the edge do you want to fall in and drown yourself?!"). Someone shoulda been watching him too. I feel no empathy for any of these people. Accidents happen, and he'll be fine.
