1. The trip to Melbourne with Anni reminded me of all the good things in life. I usually remember most of them, but I really got a refresher course in how good it can get. Been a bit bummed to be back in Sydney, actually.
2. Nice that's it's getting colder. Get ready scarves and jackets, because I'm going to wear the shit out of you.
3. Work is ridiculously tedious, apart from the good people there. The same thing, every single day. Thank god for Esquire and GQ and Yahoo Fantasy Sports. One good thing about working at a company with a high default rate from its unimpressive customers? Looks like I can pick up a near-new, ridiculously large television for very little money.
4. I'm going back to university next year. Hard. I know what I'm playing for now; I'm ensuring I won't work in finance ever again. The gaining of knowledge and better job security are both bonuses.
5. I kind of want to be a doctor. As in, I really do. It's partly because my mum is a doctor, and I've got a stupendous amount of respect for her. But it's actually important, challenging, analysis-heavy work.
But there's no underestimating how tough it is. 6+ years of constant reading and writing and fucked tests and arsehole superiors. Am I ready for that? Maybe I'll finish off my undergraduate degree and see. I definitely don't want to finish my media degree though. But, fuck me, all of a sudden I'm 23*, so I better do something and bloody well make it count.
*I know, it's not 40, and it's not 80, and I'm not going to die tomorrow. But I'm not eighteen. And it doesn't seem that long ago that I was. I better listen to a man who really understands me on this. A beautiful man named John Mayer.
