I've been holding off on this entry until I could do all my news in one shot. So, here goes.
My phone interview with Good Vibes did garner a face-to-face interview. However, it didn't matter, because 2 hours after my phone intervierw, I got a call back from a different job, and I got the position. Starting next Monday, I am a "Behavioral Specialist" at an after-school program at an elementary school. The way I understand it, I'm really just a glorified teacher's aid for kids with special needs, but it sure does sound cool, doesn't it? And as cool as it would be to work at Good Vibes, it would still be working retail, and "Behavioral Specialist" will look so much cooler on a resume. And my schedule will ROCK!
Other good news-Peter and I have officially found a new place. It's official as of 10 minutes ago (this is the news I was waiting to post). Our very own apartment, for the very first time (no more roommates!)!!! And we're moving this weekend! (And would not even consider turning away any offers of help ) This is the original ad for the place, and this is my mock-up of the floorplan for Peter, who has yet to see the place (he trusts me ). And the place is gorgeous. The interior really has been completely redone. New carpet, new tile, new paint, new countertops, the whole nine. I love it. And a parking place and a heated pool. And yes, it is in San Francisco. I am so thrilled. Yay us!
After moving this weekend comes my very least favorite part of moving, and that's the cleaning of the old place, so we can get our deposit back. Not fun. But new place- I am *so* excited.
It's so weird. I have 2 jobs now, I have a new apartment. I can stop checking Craig's List obsessively. Which is kind of weird to me. I've been there so much in the past few months, and now, there's very little reason for it. It's such a huge feeling of relief. Things are taken care of. I can relax, and start looking forward to a "normal" life. I feel like I'm about to start my grown-up life, and it's kind of a nice feeling.
