What a weekend! Thursday was dinner at the SmokeHouse with Ron & Margaret Borst and a group of friends who were in town from England and Seattle. Ron has the largest collection of movie posters perhaps in the world. It's amazing when you're in his house and you're looking at the original posters for Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, Phantom of the Opera, Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Old Dark House, White Zombie, King Kong -- all on the SAME WALL!!
The rest of the weekend I was a guest at NecroComicon. It wasn't very well attended, but I had a great time! Saturday, I attended my friend Dan Roebuck's annual dinner party and got to know Ron Chaney a lot better than I previous had. Later that night - at yet another party - I met a girl who said she was a relative of Lon Chaney. I told her I just had dinner with his great-grandson an hour ago! She said that she has never met him - so I offered to introduce them. The next day she came to the show and I hooked them up. Ron's wife said that they've had 3 or 4 dozen people claim to be relatives, but when questioned, their stories never match up. This girl was the FIRST ONE to ever actually be a relative -- and everyone was thrilled! There were tears and hugs and I felt like Oprah for a day. next week, I think I'll give out cars.

I'm watching your movie again right now. The boys are playing DND and I'm watching you. Obviously, I'm having more fun. I can't fucking wait to actually meet you -- seriously I'm going to cry if for some reason it doesn't happen. It better.
My car is still totally drivable, but it's not a good idea to drive it long distances until I get a taillight (somebody might be helping me out with this).
I miss talking to you -- send me a long e-mail. I love your comics, you fucking brilliant man.
Trysty Lou.
