Yikes! Only one more week to enjoy the Halloween season! Hardly any seasonal shows or movies on TV, which rots. Seems the holiday has become more like St. Patricks Day or Cinco de Mayo - just a reason to get hammered. It's a very nostalgic time for me, though. Went to see BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN at the Alex Theatre last night. Friend & character actor Dan Roebuck performed a 1/2 hour live spookyshow before the movie which was a ton of fun. Magic tricks and old jokes - it was just the thing for a Monster Kid like me.
Then went to William Butler's annual Halloween party - this year at the Dragonfly, where I would normally not be caught in. Saw just about everyone in the horror & indie film circle there and even folks like Viggo Mortenson (who was Butler's roommate for a while). Had a great, casual time - which I didn't expect to, not being a party, clubby guy! It helped that my Picard costume was a hit.
Here's where the rest of the year starts to fly.
I hope little Cedar is feeling better.

I forgot to mention that the short I mentioned above is also in Sundance already.
It's pretty damn cool news for Rook of course; he already has one and may end up with two films in competition - in separate categories no less - at Sundance this year. Crazy times, my man.
Speaking of Rook, I spoke to him a while earlier and like I said before, he'd LOVE to do something in TWW. He feels like that is a story he was born to play a role in, so he's eager to meet with you when the time comes. And you know my feelings on the subject: I would really enjoy doing a project with you in some creative role myself, so just let me know what you have in mind.
I spent all day scouting for the short I'm producing, then the evening reviewing callback auditions on DVD for the feature to select the final cast, and now I'm taking a brief break from editing my Age DP's new reel for him. No rest for the wicked, I guess!
What are you doing for Halloween?
