I guess should update considering how depressing my last entry was.
Thursday evening, I called Jay and asked him if he'd like me to drive him home from work (he was working until 10:00), and he of course agreed as he wouldn't have to take transit. Before I came and got him, I went to the grocery store as I needed to grab dinner. I came across a bouquet of a dozen roses (not long stem) for $9.99 CAN. I figured I might as well take advantage of that deal and put a little colour in my apartment. As I was starting at my gorgeous roses (which I should probably hang soon...), I came up with a new metaphor for a rose (I think it's a metaphor at least... it's late and my brain is fried):
Love is like a rose: a good strong rose has a strong core, which makes the beauty last a long time. A rose that has a softer center may not last as long, but it is still beautiful. The better care you give a rose, the longer it'll last. It might even get old (dried) and last for a very long time.
When I picked Jay up, I brought one of the roses with me and gave it to him. I told him that little bit there and asked him if he would take care of the rose (I was referring to love), and he said "yes". Thank the gods.
Oh, and the plans for Wednesday have now changed; Jay said he wanted to make me dinner instead for our one year and spend the rest of the time fucking our brains out. I can't wait!
